Scissor Sisters 'Ta-Dah'

One listen to the Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' and you would be forgiven for thinking that they've stuck to the whole retro robbery thing that they did on their ear-catching debut... However, second album 'Ta -Dah' is different - and not always in a good way.
This time around, the amphetamine-fuelled disco-influenced tracks like 'Ooh' and 'Kiss You Off' sound like pale imitations from the first album, while the grating Elton-esque 'She's My Man' and the tacky 'I Can't Decide' - which sounds like Brotherhood of Man! - are awful, while the better tracks, such as the love-lorn 'Might Tell You Tonight' aren't quite strong enough to really convince.
However, there IS some magic to be found here in the form of the beautiful ballad 'Land Of A Thousand Words' and the dark and brooding extra track 'Transistor'. More like this please.
