We also design bespoke photography training for schools, colleges, businesses, individuals and community groups. Our training courses enable participants to learn and develop new skills in photography. The workshops provide skills for pleasure photography as well as for employability, enterprise and career development. We provide a variety of courses in each medium:
- Digital Photography (Level 1, 2, 3 & 4)
- Film Photography (Level 1 & 2)
- Post-Production (Photoshop & Lightroom)
- Traditional Processes (Pinhole, Lith, Wet Plate & Cyanotype & Van Dyke Brown)
Community
Belfast Exposed undertake community engagement and photography projects in Belfast and across Northern Ireland. Our work encompasses a wide range of individuals and organisations, of all ages, interests and backgrounds. Our community work is inline with our socially engaged ethos addressing exclusion, unemployment, mental health, increasing access, enabling creativity and critical thinking by using the camera as a method for driving and documenting change.
Archive
Belfast Exposed maintains a substantial collection of approximately one million negatives and slides in trust for the community. The archive represents a valuable historical document recording political, cultural and social change in Northern Ireland over more than three decades.
Bookshop
The bookshop, situated in the ground floor gallery, is the only independent photography bookshop in Belfast. We sell self-published, limited edition and locally produced titles that cannot be found elsewhere, as well as classic photo books, photography magazines, journals and more.
