The house is open at various times from March until September and is available to see by guided tour. Tours last approximately 1 hour and take in all of the main reception rooms in the mansion, as well as the basement where the servants lived and worked.
Check our opening times to find out when the house is open. As a listed building, it means that not all of the house is fully accessible. Please talk to our reception staff if you are concerned about moving around the house and we will make arrangements accordingly.

The Stables Bookshop
The Stables Bookshop is located in the Grand Yard at Castle Coole. As the name suggests, the bookshop was formerly a stable which has been transformed into a bright and roomy bookshop, filled with a whole range of books which have been kindly donated to the National Trust by local people, schools and businesses. The bookshop is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who have been involved right from the planning stage, to putting the shelves in place, sorting through donated books, and now the day to day running of the shop.
The Tallow House Tea-room
The Tallow House Tea-room at Castle Coole serves teas, coffees, hot lunches, sandwiches and plenty of home baked cakes and scones. The specials change regularly to match the produce in season. The Tallow House Tea-room got it's name from it's previous use, as the area used to make candles on the estate. On sunny days, our tables outside in the Drying Green are the perfect spot to enjoy your meals and let the kids (or dogs) play while you relax.

The Tallow Gift Shop
The Tallow House gift shop stocks a range of items perfect for gifts including homewares, gardening items, books and National Trust preserves. The gift shop is open both weekdays and weekends during the Summer for all to enjoy. The Tallow House gift-shop also stocks a number of items from local Northern Irish crafters and makers.
