Borat

Easily one of 2006’s best comedies, if not one of the comedy films of the decade, ‘Borat’ is almost literally pant-wettingly funny…
Sacha Baron Cohen’s first foray onto the big screen with one of his comic creations, ‘Ali G Indahouse’, was a bit of a disappointment, but his second chance, bringing clueless Kazakh television reporter Borat to movie screens, proved to be a huge success.
The plot is fairly close to the formula of the television series with Borat leaving his home village in Kazakhstan and travelling to the USA in order to make a movie about his travels around the country. Along the way, he managed to insult almost everyone he meets and the film is one long series of hilarious antics, featuring a number of highlights, including Borat delivering his own unique take on the American anthem and bringing a prostitute as his guest to a dinner party of ultra-conservative Yanks… Quite simply, this is the comedy movie of 2006 that you HAVE to see. But don’t be surprised if you wind up in casualty with those sides seriously threatening to split…
'Borat' is available on DVD now.
