A home for innovative and alternative live music, theatre, literature, comedy, film, visual art, science, circus, cabaret and all points in between – The Black Box is one of Belfast’s most beloved venues.

The Black Box is housed in the Cathedral Quarter in a Grade II listed building on Hill Street, originally constructed c. 1850 and converted into its current usage as a fully accessible arts venue in 2006.
The Green Room is open Wednesday to Saturday evening from 10am to 11pm for free or low cost entertainment and sells various drinks and snacks. If you are a beer fan, you will love our rotating beer taps!

Under 18s are welcome in the venue with their parents before 8pm, but cannot attend events after that time, as the venue is licenced.
The Black Box is a charity and not-for-profit with generated income going back into the organisation and supporting an umbrella of projects for and by adults with learning disabilities
