Tickets for the 2019 Christmas Lights Switch-On, which takes place on Saturday 16 November, will be released this coming Monday (4 November).

Speaking about this year’s programme, the Lord Mayor, John Finucane, said:

“We have another great line up of family entertainment for the young and the young at heart.

“I’ll be joined on stage by children’s television favourites PJ Masks and I’m looking forward to all of the festive music and performances that we have lined up for you.

“We’re encouraging everyone to make it Belfast this Christmas and the Lights Switch-on marks the official start to the many activities on offer this festive season!”

Cool FM radio presenters Melissa Riddell and John Kearns will play host on the evening. John Kearns said:

“Cool FM are delighted to be part of the Belfast Christmas Lights Switch-On 2019. This is the first time Melissa and I have hosted the celebrations and we’re excited and thrilled to be part of such an amazing line up of family fun and entertainment.”

Tickets are limited to 6 per person and will be available online at www.visitbelfast.com on Monday 4 November from 9am. Please remember to download or print your tickets as email confirmation does not enable entry. If you have specific access requirements or queries, please call Visit Belfast on 028 9024 6609. Terms and conditions apply.

With access to the site from 6pm, entertainment begins at 6.30pm for around an hour, culminating in the switching on of the city’s festive lighting and christmas tree. There will be road closures in effect in the city centre from earlier in the afternoon so please allow extra time for your journey.

Santa’s post box will once again be at his grotto within the Market, until Monday 16 December, for children to post letters to the North Pole, with a reply for those who add a return address.
