Birmingham Royal Ballet, one of the world’s great ballet companies, returns to the Grand Opera House with two different shows for ballet and music lovers of all ages.

An Evening of Music and Dance showcases Birmingham Royal Ballet’s world-class orchestra, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, under the baton of Northern Ireland’s own Paul Murphy, alongside the Company’s internationally-acclaimed dancers who are joined for these performances by Belfast-born Melissa Hamilton, rising star of sister company The Royal Ballet.

Compèred by BBC Northern Ireland’s Noel Thompson, these sparkling performances will include classical pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, and orchestral highlights such as Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending and Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre.

Peter & the Wolf, a family adventure

Especially for families and younger audiences, Birmingham Royal Ballet will present a programme which includes a danced performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, and an orchestral performance of Tubby the Tuba – introduced and narrated by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s own storyteller.
