Manchester Collective: Sirocco

Type : Gigs

After wowing audiences with their interpretation of Schoenberg’s Perriot Lunaire last year, The Manchester Collective return to Belfast this September with their much-anticipated project, Sirocco.

Sirocco is pure joy and energy - a great storm of music that celebrates the warmth and diversity of folk traditions from across the globe. This is music for the people, by the people. It is music that will raise the hairs on your arms and make you beam with joy!

The show will cover everything from director Abel Selaocoe’s outrageous arrangements for solo cello, to beloved classics by Stravinsky and Haydn; from original African folk music to a collection of gorgeous Danish folk songs.

We can’t wait to welcome this incredible group back to Belfast as they continue to reimagine classical music, helping make it vital, radical, and thoroughly enjoyable! Do come.
