50th Anniversary of The Beatles Abbey Road

Type : Gigs

Abbey Road is now synonymous with the pinnacle of music production and the studio has become iconic among music lovers all over the world. The Beatles album recorded there in 1969, with its instantly recognisable cover, is no less legendary, sitting Number 14 in Rolling Stone’s Greatest Albums of All-Time.

Containing some of their most enduring songs, like George Harrison’s masterpiece works, Something and Here Comes the Sun, Ringo’s quirky Octopus’s Garden, and unusual offerings from Lennon and McCartney, like Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and I Want You (She’s So Heavy), the Abbey Road album is full of classic Beatles harmonies and George Martin orchestrations, finishing with an epic 16-minute medley of eight short songs.

As well as playing Abbey Road in full, the first half of the show will consist of Beatles material from the same era including songs from Yellow Submarine, The White Album and Let It Be.

Musical Director of the show, Donal Scullion has led other recreations of classic works including the experimental Velvet Underground & Nico and Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks, both of which were very greatly received. These nights have not only been musical performances, but experiences, filled with emotion and passion, and this will be no different.
