Autumn Wildlife Hunt

Type : Events

Activities will be happening throughout the day to encourage you to learn about recording wildlife. Local and national conservation and wildlife organisations will be there, running a wide range of activities for all ages and providing lots of information on how to get involved with nature. This is a wonderful way to encourage your little ones outdoors and to become involved in nature.

Activities will be on throughout the day including:

National Museums NI - Ulster Museum Discover Nature Mammal Touch and Talk Table, guided walks including the popular "Nuts and Berries Tree Trail - walk and talk" with Dr Mike Simms as well as an opportunity to talk to museum curators and learning staff.

CEDaR - wildlife recording and minibeasts under the microscope

Paul Moore - Insect Expert - minibeast safari and identification

Irish Garden Plant Society children's quiz

Mantella - live birds of prey & exotic minibeasts and environmental information - always a huge hit with children and adults alike.

Woody's Workshop - a hand’s-on workshop where you can build your own home for wildlife. Choose from a selection of bird boxes, take your product home and encourage more bird life into your garden. One bird box per family.
