Portrush Music Society presents
THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL

Portrush Music Society's pre-Halloween blockbuster musical for all the family.

THIS PRODUCTION WILL BE A GREAT NIGHT OUT FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY - BUT WE'D LIKE TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FACT THAT A SPECTACULAR, BROADWAY SHOW LIKE THIS WILL CONTAIN SPECIAL EFFECTS INCLUDING STROBE-LIGHTS AND PYROTECHNICS.

The Addams Family is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

It features an original story based around the familiar ghoulish characters of Gomez, his wife Morticia, their children Wednesday and Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandma, and Lurch, who live together in a rickety Gothic mansion in the middle of Central Park in New York.

The curtain goes up as the whole family, past and present, assembles in the graveyard under the Addams Family Tree. Wednesday confides to Gomez that she has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable Ohio family – Lucas Beineke.

Fearing the consequences of this relationship, spanning as it does two contrasting backgrounds, she begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez has never before deceived his beloved wife Morticia, but agrees to keep the secret, with disastrous results. Fester, who himself has been smitten by love, enlists the support of the ancestors to help sort the whole thing out.

Everything will change for the Addams family and the Beinekes on the fateful night that they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents Mal and Alice who also, it is revealed, have their own relationship difficulties to reconcile.
