Former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes brings his visionary solo music to CQAF as he releases his album Matador to ecstatic reviews.

The Ivor Novello and BRIT award-winning rock star is responsible for ten Top 20 hits and six Top 20 albums. Supergrass' I Should Coco was Parlophone's fastest selling debut since The Beatles' Please Please Me.

However, it's the bumps and bruises he's faced along the way, including self-doubt, personal loss and drug-induced tour psychosis, that he examines on his new album Matador.

The album's radical musical backdrop was first hinted at on his 2012 solo debut Here Come The Bombs. The critically acclaimed album opened the next chapter on a musical career that began at the age of 14, when Nude Records signed his first band, The Jennifers.

May 2013's strictly limited edition 12" single, 'One Of These Days' / 'Break the Silence', acted as a bridge between his debut and the more expansive feel of his newer songs. Along with Buffalo, it was on repeat-play at BBC 6 Music.
