Baby it's Cold Outside

Type : Theatre

Set in a snow-trapped, isolated cottage on the Black Mountain outside Belfast, the play tells the story of a bizarre love triangle. Pregnant Patsy, a young West Belfast woman has gone to live there and have her baby with the support of her two female friends: older woman and academic Sally and the beautiful American Law student, Madison. Into this arrives Joe, Patsy's ex-boyfriend and the father of the baby. He wants to win Patsy back and assert his rights as father of the child.

But this is a Brenda Murphy comedy, and as always, nothing is as it seems.

Patsy has startling news for Joe. Not only does she not love Joe, but she announces she loves Sally instead. When Joe learns that Madison is a also a lesbian, naïve Joe thinks he has stumbled into Lesbian Headquarters Central. Throw in a Turkey baster, the imminent - and we mean imminent - arrival of the baby and the scene is set for a monumental tug of war and a (rather uneven) battle of the sexes.

Directed by Martin Lynch -The History Of The Troubles (accordin' to my Da) and Produced by GBL Productions -50 Shades of Red White and Blue, and starring Kerrie Quinn, Jo Donnelly, Kevin Elliott and introducing star of the future, Tanya Thompson, this is the comedy play that’s not to be missed.
