Where Do Little Birds Go?

Type : Theatre

It's 1966 and Lucy Fuller is 18 years old and working at Winston's Nightclub. One night Lucy its kidnaped by the Kray twins and locked in a flat with an escaped murderer. This is the terrifying story of Lucy's time with Ronnie, Reggie and Frank "The Mad Axeman" Mitchell.

‘Where Do little Birds Go’ takes us back over 40 years ago to a very particular time when fashion, music, celebrity and corruption were shaping young women’s coming of age and East London in particular was famous for its ‘wall of silence’ under the powerful grip of the Kray twins.

Lucy's story is about a vulnerable young woman who is hopeful, optimistic and has a dream. The men around manipulate her dream and ambitions as she is passed between them with little control and choice.
This is based on a real story where all the media coverage and research is written from a male perspective. In the newspaper articles she is simply and briefly referred to as 'the girl' and 'petite and shapely.'

This is an important and timely story that explores many women’s experiences of this time in recent history and in particular the actions of the notorious Kray twins. We aim, in taking the audience back to this time, to both give a voice to this woman’s story and to draw a sharp comparison to the stories of women today.
