Grainne Duffy in Concert

Type : Gigs

Grainne Duffy is a unique talent, raw and powerful, edgy and elegant. Growing up in Co. Monaghan, Ireland she gained exposure at an early age to such defining influential artists as The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and The Pretenders by raiding her elder sisters’ record collection.

So far in her short career, Grainne has already graced the stage at Glastonbury for three electric performances, toured much of Europe and even visited the North Pole, the only Irish band to play twice the Dark Season Festival in Svalbard. She was also asked to open alongside Paul Brady the newly refurbished Ulster Hall in Belfast and more recently Grainne was asked to open for Jools Holland on his tour and she and her band graced the stage for three rapturous nights and received an outstanding welcome from Jools’ audience. These special performances have given extra support to the claim that she is a special talent on the ascent.

Her wonderful mix of blues rock and soul in her own material and her treatment of a few carefully selected standards charged with true emotion and feeling can win over any audience and leave you begging for more. With her passion, which no one can deny when they hear her sing, it is not often a rare, honest talent like this comes along.
