Talking Heads by Alan Bennett

Type : Theatre

Kaleidoscope is delighted to return to the Crescent Arts Centre with one of the most popular plays of the 20th century, Talking Heads by Alan Bennett.

Most people will remember Talking Heads from the hugely popular BBC series of the eighties and nineties which made Alan Bennett a household name and featured such well-known actors as Julie Walters, Patricia Routledge, Maggie Smith and Thora Hird who won two BAFTA’s for her performances.

Talking Heads, as a play, is just that, a collection of seemingly everyday stories told by some rather familiar characters which unravel to reveal a glimpse of the humour and tragedy which surrounds us all.

In this new production Kaleidoscope and director Kerry Rooney bring to life three of Bennetts best loved pieces from the Talking Heads collection, which are guaranteed to move you to laughter and tears.

“Bennett's monologues are as wonderfully humorous as one remembers, but are also acute little mini-tragedies.”
