Often cited as one of the best American films ever made, this classic noir stars William Holden as an unsuccessful screenwriter who finds himself hopelessly attached (albeit temporarily) to Norma Desmond (played immaculately by Gloria Swanson), a forgotten silent star, living in exile in her grotesque mansion, screening her old films and obsessively dreaming of a comeback.
