Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble

The Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble is the advanced touring ensemble of New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

Students in grades 10-12 come from throughout the New England region to perform together with New England Conservatory, who educates and trains musicians of all ages from around the world, drawing on the talent and deep reservoir of experience of their distinguished faculty.

Michael Mucci is currently in his sixteenth season as Director of the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble. Under his leadership, MYWE has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall and toured the UK and Europe including Italy where they played for Pope John Paul II.
