He is acknowledged as one of Ireland’s greatest songwriters but was also an artist of note, a journalist, writer of poetry and skits and an accomplished banjo player. Almost 150 years after his birth his writing is still as fresh and entertaining as ever so the Newcastle Glee Singers and the Donard Theatre Group are delighted to join forces to celebrate this genius. “Percy French – The Last Troubadour” takes us on a journey through the life and times of this talented man and showcases many of his best loved compositions.
