Laura Mvula Support: Peter & Kerry

Soul-sensation Laura Mvula will play the Waterfront as part of her forthcoming UK and Irish tour.

Nominated for the 2013 BRITs Critics` Choice Award and included in the coveted BBC Sound of 2013 longlist, Laura Mvula has just released her highly anticipated debut album, Sing To the Moon.

Described as `The voice of 2013` by The Evening Standard, the classically trained, singer-songwriter`s music fuses orchestral soul with velvety harmonies and emotional vocals giving nods to Nina Simone, George Gershwin and Björk amongst others.

A graduate from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a degree in composition, the 26-year-old is a unique collison of her Caribbean background and formal music.

Laura`s debut single, She, appeared out of nowhere to huge praise from the cream of UK music critics - a track so lyrically poetic that it took on a life of it`s own.
