The Knotty Pine String Band

The Knotty Pine String Band have been bringing bluegrass and American roots music to audiences all across Ireland and the UK since 1993. The band consists of Seamus McGurgan, banjo, dobro and acoustic guitar; Tony Hutchinson, vocals and guitar; Aidan McGale, vocals and bass; and Declan O’Kane, fiddle and mandolin.
Since then the band have recorded four albums ‘Blood Sweat and Bluegrass’, ‘Against the Grain’, ‘Whisky Before Breakfast’ and ‘The Old Home Place’.
They have a strong country roots influence with songs from the likes of John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Goodman and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and also like to take popular songs and give them a bluegrass twist
