Last time North Carolina band Woody Pines toured on this side of the Atlantic, reviewers unanimously declared them to be one of the most entertaining acts on the Americana circuit.

This summer the four-piece returns for their biggest ever UK-and-Ireland tour to date promising once more to deliver what Maverick magazine described as an “intoxicating blend of rural and urban stringband, country blues, ragtime and jug band music”.



The band kicked off 2013 with a huge Celtic Connections double header with Petunia & the Vipers. If you were lucky enough to be at Petunia’s gig here in February you’ll have an idea of just how good Woody Pines have to be to share the billing with them. Outlaw Country legend Billy Joe Shaver has proclaimed them “The best damn band I’ve ever heard”, legendary radio presenter ‘Whispering Bob Harris’ calls them ‘Superb’ and we can guarantee that you will love their fiery moonshine spirit that sparkles with feelgood freshness.
