ANTHONY MARSDEN / MISCAST

Type : Gigs

A rising star of the UK jazz scene. This promises to be a very special evening of song from a young local singer on his way to the bright lights of New York City, with support from Belfast Musical-comedy troupe ‘Miscast.’

Recently accepted to the prestigious ‘Manhattan School of Music’ in New York, ANTHONY MARSDEN is one of the finest young singers to emerge from the UK Jazz scene in recent years. Anthony’s voice is one of rich quality, likened to that of Kurt Elling but his vocal style also takes influence from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Ray Charles as well as the great jazz singers of the twentieth century. This special evening sees Anthony return home to share an eclectic mix of songs detailing his musical past in Ireland and the UK, as well as nodding to his future in NYC.

‘MISCAST’ are a musical theatre night with a live pianist. If you want to sing though, there’s one catch, you can’t sing as any character you could ever be cast as. We want to hear men singing Disney Princess songs, grown women singing Matilda etc. Join Niall O’Flaherty, Mark O’ Donnell and Donal Morgan for another night of messed up musical theatre.
