Ralph Alessi is a “rising star” of the New York jazz scene with drop-dead trumpet chops. He is a classically trained and highly creative musician who can be heard in groups with Don Byron, Uri Caine (the Mahler project), Sam Rivers, Fred Hersch, and Steve Coleman. His music is as clean, airy, sophisticated, and disciplined as progressive jazz gets

Since the year 2000 he recorded under his own name with his bands Modular Theatre and This Against That, and has released through ECM since 2013. For his first European tour as a bandleader he has invited Andy Milne, Drew Gress, Mark Ferber, and special guest and ‘old’ friend Ravi Coltrane.

This is a gig that brims with class, the like of which rarely makes it to this part of the world. Come along!
