Type : Gigs

The legendary Thin Lizzy drummer marks the 40th anniversary of one of the all-time classic live rock albums – Thin Lizzy’s Live And Dangerous.
A true legend, Brian Downey needs no introduction, cited as an influence by many of the world’s top drummers. He was, along with Phil Lynott and Eric Bell a founding member of rock legends Thin Lizzy back in 1969 and remained a member until the band split in 1983. He also worked on Lynott’s solo albums and subsequent Grand Slam project.
Following Lynott’s untimely death on January 4th 1986, Brian relocated back to Dublin where he remained in constant demand both as a touring and a session musician and regularly playing both live and in studio with renowned guitarist Gary Moore.
Joining him to recreate the iconic sound of one of rocks live masterpieces Live And Dangerous are Brain Grace (lead guitar/backing vocals), Phil Edgar (lead guitar/backing vocals) and Matt Wilson (bass guitar/lead vocals).
Brian Grace is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s finest guitarists. He started playing over 30 years ago with Brush Shiel’s Skid Row and subsequently toured the world with the likes of Rob Strong. He was musical director of Dublin’s famous ‘Vibe for Philo’ – a festival he has contributed to every year since its inception in 1986.
Hailing from Lisburn Phil Edgar was born to play rock ‘n’ roll, his reputation as a young tearaway guitarist giving Alive & Dangerous a sparkling injection of passion, style and flair. He cut his teeth with a series of local bands heavily influenced by the music of Thin Lizzy, The Eagles and Peter Green before enjoying major exposure with Matt Wilson in sensational Northern Irish band El Dude Brothers.
The duties of recreating the lead vocals and bass of the legendary Phil Lynott fall to Matt Wilson, a Belfast musican and vocalist with a fervent love of blues, rock and soul. His teens saw him flirt with various bands playing standards from Jimi Hendrix, Bill Withers and Funkadelic, leading him to become one of Northern Irelands most sought after vocalists.
