Internationally acclaimed jazz singer Honor Heffernan fronts a seven piece band transforming the poems of Dorothy Parker into song.
The acclaimed Irish duo of singer and actress Honor Heffernan and composer/ keyboard player Trevor Knight (Auto da Fé) proudly present their new Cabaret/Speakeasy-style show “The Whistling Girl”. Trevor Knight has transformed the poems of Dorothy Parker into songs, with her witty, droll and sometimes heart rending lyrics uniquely interpreted by Honor Heffernan.
Honor will front a band of top Irish musicians. In addition to Trevor on keyboards the night will also include bassist Garvan Gallagher, Tom Jamieson on drums, Ed Deane on electric guitar, saxophonist Ciaran Wilde and Bill Blackmore on horns.
Together they will breathe new life into the poetry and prose of the great American literary icon Dorothy Parker, bringing it to new audiences in a memorable evening of music.

Trevor Knight has composed music for more than 80 theatrical productions including the award winning “Catalpa” with Donal O’Kelly. His band Auto da Fé with singer Gay Woods released 3 albums in the 1980’s. He has toured and recorded with artists such as Philip Lynott, Donovan, Camille O’Sullivan, Roger Doyle, Luka Bloom and Paul Brady.
Trevor became a member of Aosdana – Ireland’s state sponsored academy of creative artists in March 2007.
Honor Heffernan has been performing as both a singer and actress for over 30 years. As a singer her versatility and superior vocal ability means she is comfortable singing anything from Jazz and Blues to Rock and Folk. She has three solo albums to her credit – ‘Chasing the Moon’, ‘Fire and Ice’ and ‘The Other Side’ – and most recently released ‘Two Heads Are Better than One’ – a duo album with guitarist Hugh Buckley.
As an actress her many credits include Neil Jordan’s ‘Angel’ and Lennie Abrahmson’s ‘Prosperity’ while she has also played starring roles in two of Irish TV’s best loved soaps – Fair City and Glenroe. Her many stage roles include Noel Pearson’s production of Jesus Christ superstar, The Abbey Theatre’s production of Drama at Inish and as Blanche du Bois in Gasworks Theatre’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
