Owen O’Neill – Red Noise

Type : Comedy

Owen O Neill is a bit of a comic genius. He’s toured the world with his one-man shows accumulating a string of awards including three Fringe Firsts at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Edinburgh Critics Award for best comedy, the Angel Award for best one-man show and the Time Out Comedy Award.
His new show Red Noise is a hybrid of stand-up comedy, theatrical monologue and poetry which he blends to perfection. It contains true stories from his life – quite frankly if your life has been as mental as Owens seems to have been there’s really no shortage of comic inspiration.
From being brought up in a family of sixteen siblings and having to queue for breakfast to being struck by lightning at nine years old and being told he had the cure for cancer, to being interrogated by an IRA man with a stammer (the longest two hours of his life apparently) to how his feature film debut with Liam Neeson went horribly, horribly wrong – there’s all this and more in an unforgettable hour and a half that will leave you somewhere between laughter and astonishment.
