Multi-award winning memoir The Outrun is about homecoming to Orkney, about addiction and recovery, and about the arrival of a crystal-clear new voice in nature writing.

When Amy came back home from a dangerous life in London to the sheep farm where she grew up, she swam in the sea, tracked the seabirds - the Arctic terns flying so close they brushed her with their wings - and searched the night sky for The Merry Dancers.

She had found a way back. The Outrun is a beautiful study of life on the edge in all senses, about the pull between the islands and the city, about recovery and renewal.
