Steel Magnolias

Ireland’s oldest continually preforming amateur dramatic society Enniskillen Amateur Dramatic Society is delighted to visit Strule Arts for the first time presenting our annual production of Steel Magnolias. As the title suggests these six remarkable women are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel! Truvy’s beauty salon sets the scene were the women of Chinquapin parish regularly gather. Despite their differences, beautiful and impulsive Shelby, her strong-willed mother, M’Lynn, beauty parlour owner Truvy, elegant wealthy widow, Clairee, sharp-tongued Ouiser and mousey newcomer assistant Annelle, enjoy friendship that spans the boundaries of age and status. Sharing each other’s strength and loyalty, surviving the cycles of life, birth and death to emerge stronger, closer and still laughing.
