Tuskany

Formed in late 2015 Tuskany are a Belfast based indie/pop act. With influences of funk, soul and pop, their music consists of punchy riffs and melodic synth lines. Sounds something like Two Door Cinema Club, meets Earth Wind and Fire, meets M83.

Strength

I wanted to use pieces of dead machinery: an old drum machine: a broken bass: a vhs recorder. I wanted to use things that people had disregarded or forgotten about, I needed to find the light that was still flickering within these machines.My whole purpose was to create something that would sound good in a crap hi-fi.

I needed to get clear of massive recording consoles and endless digital options.

I wanted to get myself into a space were there was literally nothing left.Strength was the aftermath of a nuclear disaster,and all I could find amidst the smoldering rubble was a cassette machine and some other forms of primitive and basic machinery - I imagined myself making the first pop songs in the world again - -songs that would connect with people after the disaster - yes that's it -everything in the world had been destroyed so I needed to create something out of the ruin-something tangible that could be felt and played in a makeshift hi-fi or car stereo.This is were I would begin...


Civil Simian

We've been together as Urban Scarecrow since May 2010 but some of our current members have joined much more recently. We've played a lot around Belfast and elsewhere in NI and even managed a set in England a while back. We decided it was time for a change of directions. The music is changing - and now we're called Civil Simian. The Fables EP is available online at our bandcamp site, and our full length album will be out very soon!

Jess Edlin

Jess Edlin is a contemporary artist. She writes, records and produces unique and intricate instrumentation, which is brought to life on stage by a variety of very talented multi-instrumentalists. The result is mesmerising and organic, with interweaving melodies and vocal harmonies that play against a catchy and hypnotic rhythm section
