EXHIBITION: HUMANS OF EAST BELFAST

The Humans of East Belfast started as an idea with Shoot Positive and East Side Arts Festival to start an intergenerational project which brought older members of the East Belfast community together with youth groups in their area. Inspired by the hugely successful “Humans of New York” photography project, we brought the groups together to learn about each others lives and create portraits which tell a real story as well as learning about photography and the shared history of people from the area. The collection of stories and images created by the groups show a touching and varied view of people from the area, some having lived here for many decades and others as new residents, all living together and building a comm
