The Viola in my Life is an appropriate name for a concert featuring the eponymous works by Morton Feldman, but also as it features one of the foremost contemporary music specialists on that instrument. Garth Knox has an unrivalled reputation in his field having been a member of two of the world’s most significant contemporary music ensembles: the Arditti Quartet and the Ensemble Intercontemporain.



In this capacity he has worked with some of the 20th and 21st century's most important composers and performers, and his collaborations read as a who's who of contemporary music. HRSE are honoured that Garth will join them on this occasion in this special concert of music that celebrates the unhurried and spacious world of Feldman's music. The concert also features a new work by Greg Caffrey, as well as works by John Cage and Piers Hellawell.
