Paddy Keenan & Daoiri Farrell

Type : Gigs

Paddy Keenan, formerly of the Bothy Band and without doubt the greatest living uilleann piper in the world today appears accompanied by folk singer and multi instrumentalist Daoiri Farrell
Paddy, a founding member of The Bothy Band, is the gold standard by which all uilleann pipers are judged today. He is a third generation master piper. His family were a Travelling family steeped in traditional music with both his father and grandfather accomplished players. Paddys own skill and talent on the pipes has drawn comparisons from fellow musicians to that of Jimi Hendrix’s legendary ability with a guitar.
One of the most brilliant musicians of his generation and rightfully acknowledged as the most accomplished uilleann piper performing today, Paddy can rightfully claim his place alongside such open-style legends as pipers John Cash and Johnny Doran.
Accompanying him will be folk singer, bouzouki, guitar and banjo player Daoiri Farrell – one of the brightest rising stars of the next generation of Irish traditional music.
