FOUR FOURS

Type : Gigs

Four Fours returns to the Empire Music Hall on Friday 4th December, with the fourth instalment of our quarter annual showcase representing hip-hop culture in Belfast featuring DJ's, MC's, Bboys and Beatboxing.

Dublin duo GI and Costello share the headline spot taking us on a guided tour through their respective back catalogues featuring multiple underground anthems delivered in their unmistakeable style. Dublin's Workin' Class Records have been setting the standards for Irish hip-hop in the last few years and GI and Costello are two of their finest representatives in terms of both production and lyricism. Their return to Belfast has been highly anticipated ever since their last appearance in 2013.
Also on the bill is London based MC, Oracy. Her debut album “Foot In The Door,” received an exclusive stream via the Wordplay Magazine Website prior to its release in June and has been making waves ever since. We are looking forward to hearing Oracy bring her well-polished live show to Belfast for the very first time.

Belfast's Dsgrace brings the local flavour to the mix having released his Noize Thievery produced debut album “Adoxography,” at the start of the year. This ambitious full length album features other prominent Belfast artists and has been well received amongst the burgeoning Irish Scene and beyond.
This quarter’s beatbox slot is filled by Adam Jackson. Originally from Ballymena, Jackson is now based in Manchester where he is the founding member of the University of Manchester Beatbox Society.
We again welcome Belfast's most active B-boy crew Northern Soles to the Empire floor. Fresh from another successful Cypher Sessions event at T13, the ever growing crew continue to represent the traditions of the culture holding weekly training and recruitment sessions while testing their skills in various battles around the UK.

With resident DJ Snuff otherwise engaged on this date, we are delighted to welcome phenomenal turntablist DJ Koncept back to our province as his worthy replacement. Originally from Bangor NI, Koncept has been as busy as ever playing shows and hosting a radio show in his new home in Auckland New Zealand, while continuing to compete on the DJ Battle circuit. His most notable successes remain being a runner-up in the '2006 European Gong Battle' and winning his DMC heats in Newcastle 2005 & London 2011

Completing the lineup is Antidote Emcees crate-digging aficionado Militant Vinylist. Famed for matching his selections to the occasion MV will also be taking the helm for the first open mic to hit the Four Fours stage!
