Old Master Gets An Update

Belfast institution The Eglantine has been the grateful recipient of a "significant investment", aimed at taking the bar from "cheap-thrills" to a contender is the city's revived bar scene.

According to the official press release the "newly refurbished Eglantine will shift its focus to offer a premium selection of spirits and classic cocktails, complimented by a high level of service."

A new "street food" menu is being introduced and features something enticingly called the "Pommes Frites" menu.

The updated Eglantine’s playlist will feature an eclectic range of funk, rock, metal, disco, classic guitar and much more, while also playing host to weekly film and vinyl clubs, a funk night and Big Band Sundays.

The Eglantine’s General Manager, Conor Templeton commented: "Bar culture in Belfast has undergone a seismic change in the last 5 years, bringing with it a new era and exceptional standard of service for bartending. Post-recession, bars have become much more creative, focusing on quality instead of cheap-thrills. We’re investing into a new concept that will not only develop the local area, but add another layer to Belfast’s offering.

Templeton went on to say; "We're committed to delivering a product-focused bar, matched with an excellent standard of service. Get down and see it for yourself!"

The new venue is open right now and we will be making our way there later this week to test their wares. We shall report back on what we find...
