A Living Tradition...

Following its award winning debut in 2016 as the Derry International Irish Music Festival, the newly re-branded IMBOLC International Music Festival returns from 29 January – 05 February.

This year's event spans eight days, with a packed programme of early evening and late night concerts, workshops, masterclasses, sessions, and choral events. Alongside this there will be events for children and events for young people with special needs, céilithe, film screenings, experimental electronica and much, much more.

The festival - a celebration of music reflecting the diversity of the contemporary Irish music scene - is launched with a Gala Opening concernt from Dervish & Guests at the Glassworks on 29 January.

This is followed the next day with When The Song Dies – a screening of the documentary exploring Scottish folk songs alongside live performances. Other main festival acts include 220 Volta, Caoimhín Ó Dochartaigh, Sharon Shannon, Anuna and The Psalm Singers of Lewis and a festival finale with Declan O'Rouke, John Sheahan (The Dubliners), David Munnelly Trio and Alan Burke.
This is just a tiny sample of what's on offer...
