Colour Dash 5K

Running and colour enthusiast are being invited to "paint the Eikon Exhibition Centre red – and yellow and blue, and many other colours" in a 5k run that will help raise vital funds for Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.

The all-new Colour Dash 5k is open to runners, both fun and serious, walkers, pram-pushers and everyone in between – particularly in you're interested in getting covered in coloured powder.

The event, on Sunday 21 August at Balmoral Park's Eikon Exhibition Centre, starts with a family-friendly party complete with face painting, live music and other activities. Then at 11:30, the 'dashers' shall take their marks and, well, dash.

Darren Crozier, Events Fundraiser at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice said: "We are really excited to be hosting our first ever Colour Dash 5k this summer at the new Eikon Exhibition Centre. It will be a great benefit to Northern Ireland's only children's hospice, which provides the highest quality of care for life-limited children and their families.
"The venue is perfect for an exciting new traffic-free 5K route, with colour stations, entertainment and refreshment points throughout – and ample parking space too. There will also be free shuttle buses from Lisburn train station, for anyone using public transport."

Registration is now open for the Colour Dash 5K in aid of Northern Ireland Children's Hospice at colourdash.org.

The event is being supported by Applegreen, Bow Street Mall, Veoila, Mauds, Decathlon and Blast 106.
