Belfast Guitar Festival 2016

The Belfast Guitar Festival has one simple aim – to showcase the wide range of genres that have expanded because of one instrument.
Across three days in July local and international musicians will perform in the Black Box to "shine a light on the great music scene of Belfast".

Friday 22 July will feature DBM (David Browne Murray), who's "unique approach to composing music has put him at the frontline of fingerstyle guitar playing in Belfast". He will be joined by Narciso Saul from Switzerland, who will bring "authentic tango infused with influences of his homeland Argentina".

Also performing on the Friday are Mosmo Strange, Paddy Anderson and Matthew Malcolm and the Belfast Guitar Festival Rockschool performances.

Saturday 23 July will feature Chris Woods Groove, making his much anticipated return to the festival, Gary Lutton, an eminent figure in the rise of instrumental guitar in Northern Ireland. Also appearing are Amrit Sond, Colin Reid Orchestra and Gavin Ferris.

And on Sunday 24 July, Silent Sunday, creating scores to various silent movies. Special guests still to be announced.

The Belfast Guitar Festival takes place from 22-24 July at the Black Box in Belfast. For more information and tickets go to belfastguitarfest.com.
