Back Once Again...

Four Fours returns to the Empire Music Hall on Friday 24 July for the 3rd installment of its quarterly hip-hop showcase.

Hosted by Antidote Emcees and Belfast rap revolutionary Jun Tzu, the showcases feature residents DJ Snuff (Universal Zulu Nation) & Militant Vinylist (Antidote EmCees) alongside our live band fronted by Manchester rapper Meany.
Each quarter also features a selection of guest artists representing hip-hop culture and its underpinning mantra; Peace, love unity and having fun...

Genesis Elijah
Hailing from Brixton, South London, Genesis Elijah has been one of the most respected names on the UK scene ever since he first emerged. His 2005 debut album 'Deh Pon Road' was released to critical acclaim with single 'Jah Bless' featuring heavily on BBC 1xtra playlists. Renowned for his hard work and consistency, Genesis combines his prolific rap career with running his clothing label, This is My Hustle, and media company Escape Route Media. Career highlights include a collaboration album with production duo The Krate Krusaders and performances all over the world from Taiwan to Switzerland.

Batz Inda Belfry
Already packing two well-established solo careers, Envy and OneDa forged a unique link on Envy’s breakfast radio show on Unity FM, Manchester’s leading youth radio station. Envy invited OneDa to represent on International Womens’ Day and the pair connected so well that the show ended in an impromptu live cypher. From this organic broadcast debut, the two remain inseparable.

Within the space of a handful of releases, they’ve established serious breadth and boldness. From the barbed battle lines of ‘White Van’ to the complex verbal textures of the lost-soul soliloquy ‘Seaweed’, via the incendiary collaboration showdown of the Nika D (Virus Syndicate) featured ‘Go Batz’ Their fired-but-fun, sharp-but-soulful lyrical wits sing to the widest of ears…

Sketch Nine
Belfast’s Sketch Nine is a veteran of the Antidote EmCees open mic sessions. He makes his FOURFOURS debut, showcasing new material alongside his new live drummer.

Northern Soles
Northern Soles are Belfast's most active b-boy crew. Founded in 2010, and continuing to run their annual event, "Cypher Sessions", they have made their name known at numerous events across the UK and Ireland, while at the same time working to promote hip hop culture locally in Belfast.

Double M Team Beatbox
Our resident Beatbox Cull steps aside for the evening as we welcome Meek and Magic (Double M) two of the finest talents in Ireland’s emerging beatbox scene.

We will also be joined for a one off performance by Manchester soul singer Denise Johnson. best known as guest vocalist on seminal Primal Scream album 'Screamadelica' as well as its follow up 'Give Out But Don’t Give Up'. She has also appeared on releases by The Charlatans, Beth Orton and Ian Brown and has enjoyed success with a number of solo releases. Denise will perform her solo material with the Four Fours band and is currently working on a special collaboration with Jun Tzu.

For one night only we also welcome special guest co-host ‘Mr Manchester’ TV’s Terry Christian, best known for his stint presenting Channel 4’s Youth Entertainment show '. The Word' during the 90’s.
