17th International Blues On The Bay

The world renowned Blues on the Bay Festival returns again to Warrenpoint for its 17th year, and it is celebrating in style with Van Morrison and Mud Morganfield.

Mr Morrison will play two shows at this years event on Sunday 24 May at Warrenpoint Town Hall – an afternoon show, followed by an evening gig.

It marks Van's eight appearance at the festival and the organisers have also announced that profits from the shows will be donated to the Southern Area Hospice Services.

And the 'son of a seventh son', Mud Morganfield, aka the eldest son of the legendary Muddy Waters, makes his festival debut.

A blues stars in his own right, Morganfield appears at the Balmoral Hotel on Friday 22 May, while also appearing in a live broadcast for BBC Radio Ulster, who will be on site throughout the festival.

Festival Coordinator Ian Sands commented: "That Van Morrison and Mud Morganfield’s appearances would once again see Warrenpoint’s Blues on the Bay Festival being a huge draw for music fans from all over the world and that the festival still continues to grow from strength to strength 17 years on."
