"We live in a world surrounded by superstitions. One person’s religion is another person’s myth... one person’s fear is another’s amusement." So begins the blurb for an exhibition at the Ards Arts Centre called the Art of Superstition.
Presented by Illustrators Ireland, the new group exhibition examines the world of irrational beliefs and features works from forty leading illustrators, including PJ Lynch, Steve Simpson and Children's Laureate, Niamh Sharkey, alongside emerging illustrators and showcasing finalists from an accompanying open submission competition.
Having had a sneak peek at a number of the images being displayed, we can’t recommend the trip to Ards enough to see this show. Absolutely worth it.
The Art of Superstition exhibition runs for six weeks at the Ards Arts Centre, Town Hall, Conway Square, Newtownards, from 11 December until 24 January.
