The Brooklyn based duo began playing together in late 2007 recording their first EP "+/-" in 2009. They were signed to Brassland Records after Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National saw them playing a basement venue. Their sound skates between the decorations of prog rock and the cold metallic contours of post-punk. The higher-voiced buke sings nervy, leaping leads while the snarling gase drives the low end.

Dyer and Sanchez are on double duty, mobilizing a small army of foot percussion, pedals, amplifiers and homemade inventions creating a massive sound. Dyer's supermelodic vocal lines weave through their incredible interplay, balancing light and dark, calamity and control. The result is a visually unexpected and sonically explosive live show.

“On each of their releases to date, Buke & Gase have never been anything less than absolutely thrilling.”  - Pitchfork

“There’s as much sex in these songs as someone like, say, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would offer you, but so much more invention.” - The Line Of Best Fit

“Arone Dyer’s vocals feel like warm honey flowing through the carefully arranged chaos created by the Brooklyn band.” - All Music

Listen to General Dome and watch them live on NPR Tiny Desk Concert
