How does one describe the Sleaford Mods? Is it a bit like the Streets? That doesn’t seem to do it. Mark E Smith and his mate mucking about with a computer?
I, like, most other journalists, scrabble around in the dirt for an easy way to describe music. We have to do it a lot, so agreeing on a set of handy taglines does make things easier, but then comes along a band like Sleaford Mods and we’re all left stumped. Embarrassing ourselves as we try and fail to easily encapsulate an new unknown.
Are Sleaford Mods even any good? All I do know is I’m going to go see them on 03 Dec at Voodoo in Belfast.
