If You Go Down To The Woods...

Halloween didn't seem to make much a show this year it what was loosely considered our "Halloween issue". Advertisers appear to be jumping straight on to Christmas, but, as big fans of all things spooky, we thought we should at least offer up some of our choices for Halloween-related goings-on...

First on our list, the Belfast Film Festival's (BFF) Halloween Movies
The Horror of Shatner at 57,000 Feet!
A William Shatner horror double-bill! The Horror at 37,000 Feet, wonderfully encapsulated by the BFF with the line "A drunk William Shatner vs. a Druid Ghost on an airplane!", and Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, which again the BFF nail with "A nervous William Shatner vs. a Gremlin on a plane!"
These wonders will be shown on Sunday 26 October, tickets are £4 and available from the BFF website.
As part of their Halloween screenings you can also catch Hairy Metal Horror, Halloween 3: The Season of the Witch and Science Team.

Jungle NI Fright Night
If you are after something a little full-on, the Jungle NI's Fright Night might the thing for you. First it was the Woodland Trail of Terror, but they have since added the Inbred House of Horror, the Murderous Maze and Zombie Paintball.
Now, the zombie paintball sounds like it would be great craic, but the house of horror and the murderous maze genuinely made me a little uneasy. Remember that the Jungle NI is in the the middle of a forest, in the middle of nowhere...

Carrie Prom Night
The description of this night at the MAC is quite vague – it invites you to the Annual Prom, where they'll name a "Prom King and Queen, drink some punch … oh, and frighten the life out of you." We know their will be a live band, a "smattering of gore" and "a night of devilish surprises." Fancy dress is optional but encouraged. Friday 31 October, £15.
The MAC are also offering a number of family events over the Halloween period, including Spooky Storytelling, CarnEVIL, Frightening Fables and Creepy Characters. Full details can be found online.

The tour will focus on certain "hot spots", including the condemned mans cell, execution chamber, the tunnel and the flogging room. The tour is strictly over 18's, runs nightly, and at multiple times, from 16 October until 05 November and costs £15.

Mexican Day of the Dead
OK, there isn't much information on this, but it is at Giant's Causeway, which is an awesome place, and it is bound to involve sugar skulls, which are also awesome and warrant it's inclusion here. Sure if it's wick, you're near Portrush and that's a terrifying place.
The National Trust

Halloween Torchlight Tours
