The Belfast Comedy Festival, aka Belly Laughs Belfast Comedy Festival, aka Belfast International Comedy Festival, aka Belfast Comedy Festival Belly Laughs, is back!
Slight identity crisis aside, for the last three years the festival has brought a focus and attention to the local comedy scene that it greatly deserved. This year the festival begins to branch out, forecasting a surely healthy future for an endeavour started in 2011 by some "comedy enthusiast" friends.
This year not only with the host a plethora of international comedians, alongside a wealth of local talent (genuinely too many for us to even begin to mention) but will also host one of 20 regional heats in the Hobgoblin Comedy Award. On 02 October, aspiring comedians are invited to compete for their chance to perform at the finals of the 2015 awards, which offers a prize of £2,000 and "other rewards".
