Bruiser Theatre Company’s artistic policy of “minimal set for maximum impact” might become ever more relevant in the near future. When I met Artistic Director Lisa May one morning in The MAC she had come from an Arts Council meeting and said she was bracing herself for more cuts. She didn’t seem worried though, I don’t think May scares easily; she moved from England to Belfast in 1997 to found a touring physical theatre company; both she and The Good Friday agreement were but young fledglings.
