Barb Wire Dolls Make UK Debut - In Bangor

Originally from Greece but currently based out of Los Angeles, The Barb Wire Dolls co-headline the 2013 edition of the BBA Taking Control punk festival at the seaside town’s Marine Court Hotel on Saturday June 15th.
Inspired by the first wave of punk music that came from such artists as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash, the band – comprising outspoken vocalist Isis Queen, guitarist Pyn Doll and drummer Krash Doll - released their debut album, ‘Slit’, last year. In typically DIY punk style, the album was recorded live and in one take on 2" analogue tape in just two nights at Albini’s Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, and was mastered on vintage analogue equipment by Bob Weston (who also plays with Albini in the band Shellac).
The album is currently available as a free download from http://soundcloud.com/barb_wire_dolls_promo.

The BBA festival’s other co-headliners are London punk legends 999 and The Lurkers, with the bill being completed by top local outfits The Outcasts, The Defects and Shock Treatment 21, rising star Louise Distras, Swindon’s Charred Hearts, Welsh weirdos Not The Only Clown In The Village, Wasted Talent, Buck Eejit, The Androids and many more.
