Belfast Punk Icons Release First DVD

The release coincides with the legendary band’s 35th anniversary, which they will celebrate with their only hometown gig of the year, at the city’s newest live venue, Voodoo, that same evening.

Having formed in 1977 by the Cowan brothers, they've stated that one of their many highlights as a band has been headlining The Ulster Hall (a rare occasion for a local band in the late 70s), and also supporting legendary bands like The Clash. Other significant points in their three-decade-plus year career include being the first album released on the equally legendary Good Vibrations label, enjoying major success in Europe, especially France, culminating this year in having a major featured role in ‘Good Vibrations: The Movie’ – the biopic about Belfast’s very own godfather of punk, Terri Hooley.

However, one highlight that's still a 'memory in the making' has been coming back together to play live last year after a 26 year gap to film the 'Live in Dublin’ DVD.

"Something that would have seemed like science fiction when we first started" say's bassist Greg Cowan.

UK audiences will get a flavour of The Outcasts when they play the Rebellion festival in Blackpool in August, along with notaries as Public Image, Bow Wow Wow and more. After that, the band will then head to Europe for tours of Germany and Spain.

Admission to next week’s DVD launch gig – which also features a DJ set by Terri Hooley, is £10, payable on the door. More information can be found by following the link below.
